For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
The message of the cross is simple, Jesus saves. In the midst of religious confusions and hypocrisy of the self-rihgteousness, we need not to dwelve deeper. Jesus came as a Saviour, not a judge. Funny sometimes we tend to judge other people who are walking the path we used to walk to. Not because we chosen to separate our lifestyle with the norms of the society, we can condemn them – we should obviously not!
This passage putting in a context of “holier than thou” attitude of christians made me realized how I should guard myself, lest I fall in spirit of condemnation. Inasmuch as we strive to live under His grace (which we need badly considering our human nature to point fingers to others), we have to understand that it’s not the ‘right’ acts we do that saved us, but by His grace – lest any man will boast.
This scripture made me reflect how God wants us to understand His love without any sugarcoat assurance or vain expectations.
Who are we to judge? In the end, it’s between you and God.
